Long Long Time

It has been a long time since I have written anything on here! I have been a busy busy girl. Last weekend for the fourth of July I had 2 friends visiting me in New York! It was so much fun, I am so happy they were able to come. Except one of them broke her phone the first night we went out, then lost her ID and broke her camera the second night out! That part was kind of a nightmare, I must say. Me being the great friend that I am, I helped piece her life back together all day on the fourth of July! We had to go get her a new phone, get her camera fixed, and file a police report so that she was able to fly back home on Sunday! Other than that little incident my weekend was very eventful. I took her all around the city to go shopping and site seeing.

This week at work was very hectic because we were getting set up for multiple photo shoots that will be happening this weekend! I cannot release the names and any other information about them, but they are looking pretty fabulous, cannot wait to see the finished product! We also received the new issue of ELLE with Miley Cirus on the cover this week. I think they did a great job of making her still look like a teen on the cover!

This weekend my boyfriend is coming to visit! I cannot wait, I have made an itinerary for us :)

Thursday: dinner at B Bar and then see Public Enemies
Friday: After work go to the southstreet seaport and battery park to see the statue of liberty then dinner out there
Saturday: Brunch at Coffee Shop, go to Central Park, lunch at Stage Deli (he really wants to go here), time square, dinner in little italy, then out for drinks
Sunday: walk around SoHo, lunch(??)

**if anyone has some ideas let me know!**

RIP

It has been awhile since my last post! This week was very slow at ELLE, nothing out of the ordinary. When I came to CFL Thursday morning it was like any other day until it hit 5 o'clock. After hearing the news about Michael Jackson a large window in the office fell out of its frame and shattered. I thought this was very eerie and ironic. Luckily no one was standing outside when it happened because half of the window fell outside! Everyone rushed to see what had happened and shortly after we heard sirens blaring down the street. Two firefighters approach the office to see what happened.

Tonight I am leaving to go home to Chicago, I cannot wait! I feel it is time to take a break from this hectic city and relax on the northshore. More to come after my short weekend at home!

RIP Michael Jackson

Vintage Galore

So after laying in bed all day i finally worked up the energy to go exploring. I walked over to the $5 tanning place on 3rd street then thought I should keep walking so i went searching for that last vintage store I did not hit yesterday. It was vintage galore and exactly what I have been looking for. T-shirts for $5 or $10, vintage sweatshirts for $15, and many more! After purchasing a vintage sweatshirt and really neat clutch I walked down the street to find ANOTHER vintage store. This one was all designer vintage handbags, clothes, and shoes. I knew right away this was a spot I had to hit with my mom because everything was super expensive! Now I am home with my bowl of $2.50 cherries and cooking up a lean cruisine!

PS. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Sunday no fun day

(Vintage Chanel Handbag)

Why is it that the rain continuously comes down in New York City. I woke up contemplating what I should do today because I am on my own. One of my roommates is at work for the day and the other went home for a few weeks. Since I have nothing to do today; of course, the one thing I resort to is shopping! My next mission is to find a great used/vintage Chanel bag with a long strap, anyone know of any places in the Union Square area?

I also search all night last night to book a flight home next weekend to Chicago, cant wait!

Rainy day

(L.A. Girl Flare, Urban Outfitter sandals, Urban Outfitters cropped top)

I woke up this morning preparing myself to go out and find those vintage shops that I searched for previously on the internet. After painting my toe nails a vibrant green I set off in the rain on my search. The subway trip was hectic with umbrellas slapping me left and right! I managed to make it down to SoHo and began my walk. I got off at Prince St. and Broadway in a torrential down poor. Feeling so distraught i contemplated turning back and going home. I knew that if I turned to go home I would just sit at my apartment all day doing nothing. I checked my Google Map on my Blackberry to make sure I was headed in the correct direction. Of course after being on it for less than 5 minutes it died! I was on my own now... As I walked down Broadway I went into multiple stores consisting of TopShop, Madewell, Aldo, Steve Madden (having a great sale), Urban Outfitters, and many more. At Urban I bought a really cute and cheap little cropped top! I then realized I got off track and continued to the vintage stores. I ended up visiting all of the stores and came back in discontent. I hoped to find some cheap hidden secrets, but all that there was were expensive ugly items! I returned home disappointed, but knew that I at least got a great work out!

Crumbs

(Crumbs, 124 University Place)

Crumbs cupcakes are outrageously large cupcakes, I have never seen anything like it. Last night instead of going out on the town my two roommates and I walked down the street to experience one of these delectable little treats. They have an array of over 15 different cupcake options, I of course went with the poor boy which is a funfetti looking vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and sprinkles on top. After returning home we sat down at our kitchen table and finished our scrumptious cupcakes in no more than 10 minutes! I was lucky enough to find a nice surprise in the middle of my cupcake; a dapple of vanilla custard! After feeling as though I was going to vomit, we all vegged out and fell asleep!

Romper

Here is a photo of the romper I am looking for!

Happy Friday

Today is Friday, which means half day! I am at CFL today. CFL is a design office based out of Hong Kong, with offices in NYC and LA. I am privileged enough to be working with their designers for American Eagle, J. Crew, and Charter Club. Today as I stepped off the subway to deliver samples a man followed me down the street approached me and said, "I saw you in the subway walk". Me being the awkward and shy girl that I am I gave him a blank stare, as though I did not speak english, and went on my way. After this incident I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure he was not there! When arriving back at the office I started making a "to do" of things that needed to be done after work today.

To Do:
1. Forever 21 to purchase a black romper- the one on the website
2. Go tanning- my skin is looking pasty white!
3. Buy make-up brush cleaner
4. Grocery shopping

I am now sitting here with absolutely nothing to do. I feel because the president of CFL is a friend of my father's he was obligated to give me a job! This being said, all I do all day is sit at a desk playing on the computer. I can't complain, it is a pretty great life, but I am BORED!

More to come later..

Virgin Blogger

The blogging has begun! Since blogging is basically the new black I figured I should start mine now! I am a 20 year old student at Indiana University, but I am living in New York City for the summer. I am interning in the fashion accessories closet at ELLE Magazine and also interning at CFL to make some side money. My summer so far has been out of every girls dream world. I am able to work with the fashion elite at ELLE and designers at CFL.

I have been interning at ELLE for about three weeks now and love what I do. Basically what my daily schedule consists of is checking items into the closet, taking photos, and checking items out; nothing to complain about! There are nine other interns in my department that I conveniently get along with great! More to come soon about my days at ELLE!

Yesterday I arose to a horrible storm outside my window and was dreading the time when I had to enter work. Of course when I arrived at work I was asked to run an errand and drop off samples at Macy's. I got stuck in a monsoon of a storm, coming back drenched; the day did not start off well.
